POLYGON x DEVFOLIO FELLOWSHIP- WRAPPING UP😀

It has been more than a week that the fellowship has ended and so much has happened that it’s difficult to get over it ( not that I want to , huh)

It all started with me coming across the application form in the weirdest of weird ways possible ( in a whatsapp group I never opened two weeks before and after that specific day ) and then, I pinned my application in chrome. 99% of me would say it’s too difficult you are not so lucky and 1% of me took back to the page 4 times a day!

And, then this came…

This one of the best things that happened this summer — first I could minimise DSA prep for on-campus interns ( dropped to 0 within a week ) and it did give a ego boost to know I made it to top 25 out of 10,000 applicants.

It began with Intro sessions to the world of DeFi, Metaverse, NFTs and all cool stuffs happening in Web3 taken by some amazing devs out there. Then, for the next 7 weeks we got structured material and assignments. Every week we explored some new domains made some cool Dapps and most importantly learnt how to build things from scratch and within a stipulated time.

Week 1: Intro to Blockchain

Week 2 : Smart Contracts

Week 3 : DeFi

Week 4 : Infra and Storage

Week 5 : DAOs

Week 6 : NFTs and Metaverse

Week 7 : Project

Apart from the technical knowledge I gained, I met very interesting people — there were many experienced devs from Builders Track who have already run 2–3 startups , guys from first year winning 7 hackathons, and in general guys who want to be in the space and add some value.

Then, came the most awaited week of the fellowship — The HackerHouse! It was just lit 🔥

I spoke to one of my friends one night, we would be most prolly getting some dorm to stay and work together and guess what… Next day, we got to know its The Paul Bangalore!

I had a spendid experience out there — from splashing on the pool, having sauna bath, attending sessions whole day to building my project till morning high on cold brew!

We had the opportunity to hear some of the Ogs in the space like Piyush Maheshwari, Astha Gupta, Saurabh and share our project ideas and take their valuable feedbacks.

After that, we had midnight sessions planned by Akash ser where he brought some experienced founders, developers, designers to talk to us , share their experience and give goodies 😀

Then, came the demo day! The main attraction of the fellowship. We got to pitch to a panel of VCs — folks from Sino Global,Builders Tribe and Lightspeed Ventures.

It had been more than a month that we spent days and nights perfecting our project, taking feedback from mentors and reitering our project a number of times- and it all boiled down to that one day!

The pitch day was more about showcasing what we all built, how much we all grew throughout the fellowship, giving us exposure of how things work and finally be in the investor’s books — once we are investible we can reach out to them.🤩

Overall, it was a great learning experience for me.🚀

Some pics worth attaching … 😁

Our Team JobGivers winning a fun game!

Tbh, the last 2 months specially the 10 days at the HackerHouse seems so unreal ! It will remain as one of the best experiences of my college life. Really grateful to Devfolio and Polygon for everything they did. Not to forget the awesome The Paul and the Gawky Goose for hosting the after party!
